Two active fruit cubes sit centre-stage at all times, flanked by queues of 4 replacement symbols on each side. Each press of the HAMMER attempts to smash one or both, paying the multiplier of any cube that breaks. Standard cubes pay x1 to x9 across blueberry, lime, strawberry, and citrus tiers, while star-embedded purple, pink, and gold cubes reach as high as x100. Four jackpots can drop on any smashed cube: the Mini at x10, Minor at x25, Major at x100, and Grand at x1,000.
Free Smashes opens when a special symbol is broken, lining up as many as 9 pink mystery cubes for prizes from x2 to x1,000. At least 2 mystery cubes are always smashed before the round can end. Play continues until every mystery cube is smashed or the active mystery cube fails to break under the hammer.
A smashed active symbol may also become a x2 Multiplier, climbing by 1 with every failed auto-hit on the other symbol and topping out at x10 on the 9th attempt. A single hammer may power up to smash any cube in one swing, and both hammers may also power up together to strike both active symbols on the same play. Normal cubes left standing after the swing can upgrade into the next tier, rising through blueberry, lime, strawberry, and citrus. The two-symbol stage, queued replacements, and jackpot pool form the full Smash Factory loop.
